For an experience body man, it is very simple to install our products. This is not always the case for body shops that have no experience in installing after market body kits. Even though you might feel you have the experience and knowledge to install it yourself, we do not recommend for any of our customers to install the products themselves. Please be advised that our recommendation is to take it to a professional. If the body shop is going to charge you anything over $1000 to paint and install, you are probably better off finding another source.

In the aftermarket industry of aerodynamics, consumers are given many options in choosing a desired style, different quality of products, and ultimately personalization for their vehicle.
However, most consumers are not aware of the different types of materials used to create the end product nor the qualities in which these products are made of. So what are the differences
between Conventional Fiberglass, Poly-Urethane, and Duraflex aerodynamics? What separates them from each other and why is it so important to know which one is best for you?
Majority of the aerodynamic products in the industry today are made of some form of fiberglass due to its relative inexpensive nature and its ease for mass production. Fiberglass (FRP) advantages include low cost, light weight, and its relative ease for customization. However, the disadvantages in today’s “low cost” fiberglass market include increased shipping damages, low quality products, fitment issues, and ultimately more money spent at the local body shop for consumers. Many aerodynamic companies today have been able to offer “low cost” aerodynamics at the expense of a poor quality product in which consumers are not aware of until they receive the product. With poor workmanship, the current “low quality” fiberglass product has become an instant “Buyer Beware” product in which buyers are forced to have to “deal” with the problems. With the ever changing different grades of fiberglass many consumers have strayed away from the conventional “low quality” fiberglass product in search of a higher quality product. The conventional fiberglass is recommended for the consumer with a low budget as long as they research the company they are buying from and avoid buying a low quality product.
Another option consumers may consider is aerodynamics made of a high quality Poly-Urethane material. Urethane (PU) products are made with a closed mold process and the finished product resembles an OEM product on your vehicle. Advantages for the consumer include a high quality product, OEM fitment, and virtually no damage during transit. However, urethane products are known to be extremely expensive, sometimes resulting in two to three times the cost of a fiberglass product. Also, urethane aerodynamics consists of pliable plastics which make the ground effects heavier and more susceptible to heat, causing it to lose its shape, warp, and even tear during usage. Keep in mind that once urethane parts lose shape or rips, it is not repairable leaving consumers no other choice except to spend more money on another product. Urethane aerodynamics are recommended for the high end consumer who does not mind spending more money for a high quality product.
Duraflex is a combination of fiberglass, plastic, and flex resins resulting in the best of both worlds. Duraflex (PFRP) products have a higher durability rate, reducing damage rates up to 75%, while still retaining its flexibility and staying true to form. Every Duraflex product is inspected through a rigorous quality control process giving consumers the highest quality product available with superior craftsmanship. This process ensures that Duraflex products are free from normal fiberglass deficiencies including waviness, spider cracks, chips, and gel coat damage. Duraflex products come finished with a shiny black gel coat, high quality mesh, hardware kit, and an installation-guide.
With such attention to detail, Duraflex products are surprisingly affordable, roughly 50% of the cost of a comparable high quality JDM product. Duraflex products include many advantages of both fiberglass and poly- urethane aerodynamics, while leaving out most of the disadvantages. Duraflex aerodynamics is recommended for the consumer with a medium budget and wants to get the best value for the amount of money spent.
Here you can find answers to common questions in regards to the Extreme Dimensions branded products and their DuraFlex line of products that we carry here at BodyKits4Cars.com
What is Duraflex?
Extreme Dimensions’ new Duraflex aerodynamics is a revolutionary product which combines the advantages of fiberglass, plastic, and flex resins to obtain its unique features. Why is it superior to conventional materials?
Duraflex products obtain a much higher durability rate than the average fiberglass product, reducing damage rates up to 75%. All Duraflex products feature a glossy black gel coat, a quality metal mesh, general hardware kit, and a general guide to help you install the product. Conventional fiberglass products have cracks throughout the gel coat, are thin enough to see through, have seams down the middle of the bumper, and are brittle or weak. In essence, our new Duraflex products will give you greater durability at the cost of fiberglass. Please refer to our website for downloadable videos of this new revolutionary product.
What kind of quality control does my Duraflex product go through?
All Duraflex parts go through a 10 point inspection. Each and every part is checked for waviness, chips in the primer, poor cutting along the edges, cracks, etc. This ensures that all our customers receive the highest quality product available. Due to the rigorous inspection process, our customers save on preparation labor resulting in a reduced total cost for installation.
What kind of body shop should I have this kit installed by and is it hard to install these products?
We highly recommend professional installation by an experienced custom shop. Not all body shops have experience in installing aftermarket body kits. We do not recommend any of our customers to install the products themselves. Please be advised that we highly recommend that you take our products to a professional. When looking for a body shop to install your kit, look for one with experience in doing aftermarket installations. A body shop with 10 years experience in doing collision work, but no experience in aftermarket body kits is not recommended. It would be better to take the kit to a body shop with just 5 years of experience but specializes in installing aftermarket body kits. We do not recommend our customers doing the installs by themselves.
How would I install these products?
All aerodynamics are manufactured with fiberglass unless otherwise noted. Due to the material used in production, the parts will NOT be a direct bolt-on. These parts may require prepping, sanding, shaving, filling gaps, cutting, or other types of body work. These modifications may include removal or cutting of the reinforcement bars. By complying with our policies, customer understands the procedure in installing the body kit. We HIGHLY recommend that a professional custom shop with fiberglass body kit experience perform the installation. Refunds may be issued on extreme fitment cases.
Do I have to test fit the parts before I paint them?
Yes, we recommend that you test fit all parts before you paint them. This will insure that you have the correct parts and also allow you to check the fit prior to prepping and painting. All parts that are drilled, prepped, and/or painted cannot be returned for credit or exchange.
What is necessary to prepare parts for paint?
All Extreme Dimensions’ products require that you test fit before doing anything else. Once the parts are test fitted, it may require some shaving, trimming, sanding, molding, and/or filling for proper fitment. You will sand and/or wet sand the parts before primering and painting. Most body shops will begin by fitting, sanding and then primering the part(s) before painting.
What kind of hardware would I need for installation?
Your OEM hardware should be more than enough to install our products. In some cases, you may need additional hardware such as self taping screws, double-sided tape, etc. to attach our parts on to your car.
Do I need to remove the reinforcement bar?
The removal of the reinforcement bar may be necessary for the fitment of our aftermarket products. In some cases, the reinforcement bar may need to be trimmed down for fitment of our products.
Do your products fit as well as my OEM parts?
All Extreme Dimensions’ products are made to the closest OEM standards possible, but since they are all hand laid we cannot guarantee a perfect fit. Also with the vast number of possibilities of why products do not fit perfectly, such as installation on vehicles which had been involved in an accident, heat, poor installation, etc, it is very difficult to guarantee perfect fitment.
Are these products street legal?
Due to the strict regulations set by The Department of Transportation, all of the products sold by Extreme Dimensions, Inc. & BodyKits4Cars.com are intended for off-road or show use only. Please check with your local police department for laws governing your area.
Is Extreme Dimensions, Inc. or BodyKits4Cars.com liable for any damages or injury as a result of these products?
Extreme Dimensions, Inc. and BodyKits4Cars.com are NOT liable for any damages or injury as a result of these products. Due to strict regulations by the Department of Transportation, all of these products may not be approved for street/highway use. Removal of reinforcements, bumpers, turn signals, and other safety equipment on the vehicle is the responsibility of the buyer. What Is Carbon Kevlar?
Carbon Kevlar is one of the high end options offered by our Carbon Fiber aftermarket aerodynamics manufacturer, Carbon Creations. This guide will give you a more detailed look at the material itself and why you may be interested in purchasing parts made from this material.
Kevlar was a new material first introduced by DuPont in the 1970s. It was the first organic fiber with sufficient tensile strength and modulus to be used in advanced composites. Kevlar was one of the first high strength synthetic fibers to gain acceptance in the reinforced plastic industry. Unlike the previous synthetic reinforcing fibers, Kevlar has a considerably higher tensile strength and modulus than fiberglass. Kevlar is usually used for structures requiring good stiffness, high abrasion resistance, and light weight. Kevlar is the same material used to produce bulletproof vests, so its extremely strong for its weight. Originally developed as a replacement for steel in radial tires, Kevlar is now used in a wide range of products.
Presently, Carbon Creations introduces Carbon Kevlar on aerodynamics for motor vehicles due to its high strength and light weight. At first glance, Carbon Kevlar gives the appearance of carbon fiber, but in an array of colors. Carbon Kevlar’s key advantages include strength, light weight, corrosion resistance, improved vehicle performance, custom appearance, and added vehicle value. Carbon Kevlar’s high strength is evident as it deteriorates vehicle corrosion and is very resistant to impact and abrasion damage. This high strength material is pound for pound stronger than steel and has five times the stretch resistance as polyester. This light weight material is approximately three times as light as a factory OEM parts suggesting improved vehicle performance that can be seen on formula race cars. Carbon Creations Carbon Kevlar aerodynamics are made with the finest materials on the market and come in a variety of colors including red, blue, yellow, and orange. From the streets to the tracks, Carbon Creations Carbon Kevlar products can be used for its improved vehicle performance and its exclusive color-matching look.
